About NOVA Farmers-Market Directory
NOVA Farmers Market Directory was created to make it easier for residents of Northern Virginia to discover, support, and enjoy our region’s vibrant local food community. As the founder, I grew up exploring area farmers markets and realized just how scattered and confusing the information could be—different hours, locations, and even whether SNAP benefits are accepted. That’s why I set out to build a single, easy-to-use guide for Arlington, Fairfax, Herndon, Alexandria, and the greater NOVA region.
Our mission is simple: empower residents and visitors with up-to-date details about every farmers market—so you can find fresh, healthy food near you, plan weekend adventures, and support small farmers and food artisans. We believe in making local food accessible to all, so we include SNAP/EBT acceptance status and strive to keep every listing current.
This project is powered by Cloudflare Pages and Airtable for reliable, real-time data. We work to pull the latest information from city feeds, official directories, and direct market submissions—so our listings stay accurate, all season long.
Your voice shapes our directory! We welcome your suggestions, new markets, corrections, and feedback—just email [email protected] or use the contact page. You can also submit your favorite market recipes or tips for getting the most out of a market visit. We love highlighting community voices and success stories!
As the site grows, we hope to offer even more: vendor highlights, seasonal guides, and resources for connecting markets with local schools and nonprofits. Thank you for being part of the NOVA local food movement.
